She Was Expected to Marry at 15. At 26, She Achieved Financial Independence.

How courage, resilience, and the sustained support of Live 4 Help Foundation carried Anjali Kisku from a remote Santhal village to a career of her own.

Anjali Kisku came from Kayamati, a remote Santhal village in Bankura, West Bengal, where early marriage is common for girls her age. In a community where daughters are often married by 15 or 16, Anjali made a different choice. She stayed determined to complete her bachelor’s degree — and she refused to let it go.

That determination was tested during COVID, when her university shifted to online exams. Her father, a daily wage worker, could not afford a phone or data recharge. Swapno Uran & Live 4 Help Foundation stepped in and arranged them, financed for her education and Anjali sat her exams. It was a small act of support with a life-changing result: she graduated.

Building Skills, One Opportunity at a Time After graduation, Anjali set her sights on becoming financially independent. With support from Swapno Uran and funding from Live 4 Help Foundation, she completed a beekeeping course under Khadi Gramodyog and received bee boxes to begin. She even trained girls at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Abashik School — though the nearby forest and hilly terrain made beekeeping hard, as the bees often swarmed away.

She did not give up. Anjali trained in mushroom farming and cultivated it successfully. The Foundation recognized her talent for painting, encouraged her to create fabric-painted bags, and helped her sell them. Alongside this, she received basic computer training and coaching for job-oriented exams.

A Career of Her Own In 2025, Anjali was admitted to ATDC (Apparel Training and Design Centre), Kolkata, for a diploma course. She completed it in March 2026 and today works as a QC Supervisor in a garment company — financially independent at 26 and is a role model for the girls of her village.

In FY 2025–26, we reached a moment that will forever remain special in our journey: for the first time since inception, the cumulative number of students supported through our education initiative crossed 100.

This milestone is not just a number. It represents 100+ individual stories of resilience, hope, and determination – and countless families who believe that education can transform lives.

Growing Step by Step: From Vision to Impact

What began as a small effort to support a handful of deserving students has today grown into a multi‑state education support program spanning 11 states and 47 institutions.

As of April 2026:

• 107 students have been supported cumulatively
• Students span from secondary school to professional degrees, including Engineering, Nursing, MBBS, BA, BSc, Diploma and Post‑Graduate programs
• 64% of beneficiaries are girls, reflecting our strong commitment to inclusive education
• Average student age: ~15 years, highlighting early intervention at critical learning stages

This steady growth reflects not scale for the sake of numbers, but thoughtful, need‑based support, renewed year after year.

• Jharkhand (28%)

The first event, in collaboration with The Stand N Stride Foundation, saw the distribution of high-quality blankets and refreshments to 120 students at their SnS Park Pathshala in Sector 19, Dwarka. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Amod Poddar (Founder) and Usha Zalpuri (General Secretary) of Stand N Stride Foundation for their unwavering support and encouraging words. They emphasized that these blankets not only provide warmth during the cold weather but also strengthen the bond of trust between mentors and children. We are deeply thankful to both Stand N Stride Foundation and ERBE for their unwavering support of our vision to protect and empower the new generation. Special thanks are also due to Ritesh Kumar, a dedicated volunteer of Live 4 Help Foundation for his meticulous arrangements for refreshments and coordination.

The second event took place at Arya Mahila Ashram, Delhi, where blankets were distributed to 60 elderly single women. We were profoundly touched by the stories we heard and the resilience of the beneficiaries, highlighting how even a small gesture can provide immense relief during Delhi’s harsh winter. We are grateful to Sanskriti Rajput and the NSS team of volunteers for their efficient arrangements and coordination.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Rakesh Kundu, Executive Director at ERBE, and his larger Delhi team for their unwavering support of the foundation’s cause. We are inspired by Rakesh’s leadership and humbled by the trust and faith ERBE has placed in the Live 4 Help Foundation since its inception. Together, we remain committed to advancing our vision.

Snaps from SNS Pathsala – Blanket Distribution

The post Live 4 Help Foundation conducted two blanket distribution activities in Delhi covering 180 families on Jan 17th, 2026 first appeared on LIVE 4 HELP FOUNDATION.

The primary objective of these meetings was to review the students’ progress, address any challenges they might be facing, and understand their aspirations. Additionally, the team aimed to assess whether any additional facilities or support were needed to enhance their performance and morale.

On December 20th, the L4H team visited the Bankura District of West Bengal and met with Shatarupa Mandal, who is pursuing her second year of MBBS. at Bankura Sammilani Medical College.  She expressed determination to make the most of the limited resources and facilities available on campus and assured us that her efforts, coupled with our support, would not go in vain.

The following day, December 21st, the team travelled to Purulia town and met Shubham Pandey, who is pursuing a PhD at the University of Florida after completing a master’s degree from IIT, Chennai, and Hriday Pramanik, who is progressing well in his Engineering studies. After detailed discussions about their studies, the team visited their homes to meet and encourage their parents, who were extremely delighted to see us.

On December 22nd, the team visited Trimurti Public School in Chas, Bokaro, where they met seven students: Ayush Kumar, Sakshi, Kushi Kumari, Riya Raj, Md. Taslim, Sahiba Kaur, and Price Kumar Jha. The team interacted with each student individually, reviewed their progress, and provided advice on achieving their goals. The Vice Principal of the school, Smt. Razia Sultan, was found to be very cooperative and supportive of both the students and L4H.

On December 23rd, the team moved to Madhupur and visited Anandalaya Public School in Jharkhand and had detailed interactions with seven students: Abha Kumari, Punam Kisku, Rakhi Kumari, Jeenat Parween, Subhani Parween, Mahin Parween, and Puja Kumari. While the students were generally doing well, they expressed concerns about their proficiency in English. Virtual classes on spoken English were suggested as a potential solution to help them immensely. The team also felt that periodic reviews and regular interactions would boost their morale and build a sense of accountability.

In Kolkata, the team met with five students: Satyabrata Patra and Subhankar Das from Belgharia R. K. Mission Student’s Home, and Rohan Dwari, Babita Giri, and Sudip Das from East Garia Educational Institution. Jayanta Guin, one of our sponsors from the USA, accompanied the team to meet with Rohit Dwari, whom he is supporting, as well as other students from East Garia Educational Institution. The team’s goal is to connect students with their sponsors to provide first-hand experiences.

Overall, the team connected with 22 students, reaffirming L4H’s commitment to these interactions. They were pleased to learn that some students aspired to become IAS and IPS officers, while others were keen on pursuing higher studies.

We are proud to announce the achievements of our sponsored students. Subham Panday, one of our earliest beneficiaries, recently completed master’s from IIT, Madras. He also received a US visa and will pursue a PhD at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, University of Florida. We also celebrate Srijita Basak, who ranked second in her fourth semester of BA Geography, earning top grades (A+ & O) across all subjects.

Our core members remain dedicated, maintaining regular contact with students through phone calls, in-person meetings, and ongoing mentorship. Recently, we planned a five-day, four-night trip to Bankura and Purulia, scheduled for December, where we will meet eighteen students and additional beneficiaries in and around Kolkata.  Photographs from our recent meeting have been included for your reference.

It is hard to believe that half of the year is gone! We believe this is time to apprise you about our half-yearly activities.

Key Highlights

1. Educational Initiatives: The foundation has been focusing on educational initiatives, with a significant portion of their activities centered around sponsoring students for education and promoting digital literacy.
2. Framework and Data Management: We have established a framework to manage our growth and created a cloud-based data storage system to ensure transparency and ease of access.
3. Expansion: The foundation has expanded its reach to Tamil Nadu, its 8th state, and added new students from various institutions.
4. Membership Program: We have introduced a Life Membership option and amended the yearly renewal fee.
5. Co-sponsorship: The foundation has worked with schools to co-sponsor deserving students by fulfilling part of their needs.
6. FCRA Registration: We have submitted the FCRA registration documents and are hopeful to receive approval soon.
7. Digital Presence: The foundation has partnered with E-Veda to share key activities and updates on their website, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
8. CSR Funding: We are exploring ways to bridge the gap in CSR funding for education.

Achievements

1. 1. 36 lakh rupees worth of activities: The foundation ended the last fiscal year with activities worth over 36 lakh rupees.
2. 69 active students: Currently, 69 active students from 37 institutions are being sponsored.
3. 3. 5 Life Members: Five members have already migrated to Life Membership.

Future Plans

1. 50 lakh rupees target: The foundation has set an ambitious target of 50 lakh rupees for FY25-26.
2. Securing CSR funding: They are exploring ways to secure CSR funding for education.
